Needlepoint Plastic Canvas WorkshopWednesday, August 02, 2017 09:30am - 11:30am

Plastic canvas needlepoint is a variation of traditional needlepoint. This is a great piece of material to make doll houses, sewing boxes, and other fun 3-D projects. You can build up and out with your stitches instead of staying on one surface. Plastic canvas is a great way to teach kids how to stitch. The holes are big and the projects can be simple. A great project for them would be ornaments for a tree. This is a child friendly demonstration.

Cornhusk DollsWednesday, August 09, 2017 09:30am - 11:30am

Wherever corn was grown as a crop, children, in both Native American and Colonial American families, used husks to fashion dolls. We love the simple beauty of corn-husk dolls: They're understated, easy to make even for children, and truly ingenious -- requiring not much more than some husks and twine. This is a child friendly workshop.
