Kids Day - Nature at the FarmSaturday, January 12, 2019 10:00am - 02:00pm

Join us at the farm on the second Saturday of the month for our Dudley Kids Day. Children and adults alike, ages 5 to 65, can join in on the fun! There are hands on demonstrations, crafts, old fashioned games and even some education. Learn about history and the farming way of life.

Discover an authentic working farm owned by the Dudleys from post Civil War to mid-1940s.  Follow a park staff or docent in period clothing as they talk about the homestead consisting of eighteen restored buildings, farm animals, gardens and local history.

Plowing Up the PastFriday, March 01, 2019 - Saturday, March 02, 2019 10:00am - 03:00pm

See how fields were plowed for the spring plantings. See different types of field plows and antique tractors. These antique tractors are a display of farming equipment and a way of life circa 1930’s and 1940’s, a reflection of rural American history. Observe, as the participants work the land plowing and disking. Volunteers in period clothing will be at the farmstead demonstrating period crafts and interpreting the farms history.

Also the Southern Syrupmakers Assoc will be joining us for a Tasting Contest that anyone can join. Let's see who has the best syrup. Sat Mar 2 only.

Our food vendor is Eddie Q - Classic Southern Barbeque.

Travel back in time and discover an 1885 working farm. Girl Scouts and docents demonstrate various tasks, skills, and games of the era. This is what might have happened in an1880’s farm during the day. Chores, and games; a part of life. Then enjoy the day with an old fashioned picnic in the farm.

Earth Day & Heritage Plant SaleSaturday, April 20, 2019 09:30am - 02:00pm

We are having our annual Earth Day and Heritage Nursery plant sale at Dudley Farm Historic State Park.  We will be having tables on various topics such as:  Pollinators, why we need them, Invasive Exotic Plants, Building a Bee House, Zero Waste Gainesville, Love Our Springs, Growing a longleaf pine. Also GRU will have information on electric cars and Sweetwater Wetlands Park and more.

Our annual Heritage Nursery plans sale features heritage plants which have been grown for decades in the Dudley flower gardens, and many species of native plants.

We have 250 longleaf pine seedlings to give away (one per family) til they are gone. Please be ready to plant your seedling..
